Richard Ashcroft Tour
12th January 2017

Transition Video were approached by Rockin Horse at the beginning of the summer to come on board as the video supplier to both Block9 and The Common areas of Glastonbury Festival 2016.

For Block9, Transition Video supplied 2 x Barco 2k40 40,000 ANSI video projectors to 3D projection map Genosys. Originally a Thames Arts commission, the 50ft structure was designed by Block9 for ‘The Tree of Light’, a series of large-scale outdoor theatre performances and part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

Block9 handed out over 50,000 pairs of 3D glasses at festival over the weekend. The brightness output of 2 x 40k projectors was incredible and lit up the structures well into the early hours of the morning, every night of the festival.

At The Common, Transition Video were commissioned to project manage the video elements of the show including managing over 30 VJ’s throughout the Festival.

Transition supplied 4 x Christie 4K30 30,000 ANSI Video projectors which were responsible for the 360 degree video projection of The Temple. The Avolites A.I media server was the force behind the mapping, driving all 4 Christie 4k30’s including a further 4 10K Christie projectors inside the temple. The stage was open from 10pm until 6am every night and the projection was punching through the daylight when the stage closed at 6am daily.
